Meet Dr. Rivera

Jayson X. Rivera, DMD is a talented general and cosmetic dentist who has served the community of Taunton since 2017.

As the son of a dermatologist, Dr. Rivera was inspired to pursue dentistry because of his father’s knowledge of medicine and dedication to his patients.

Dr. Jayson X Rivera is originally from Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. He has grown up and lived on the east coast and has now made Plymouth, MA his home.
“As an adult, I had the chance to visit my brother in Plymouth many times and each time fell more in love with it until I decided to come back… permanently!”

Dr. Rivera received his undergraduate degree in his hometown at the University of Puerto Rico -Mayaguez Campus where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. Later, he decided to move to San Juan, Puerto Rico where he attended the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine and received his DMD. Before diving into private practice he received two years of additional training in general dentistry at Montefiore Medical Center in New York, serving as Chief Resident from 2010-2011.

Upon graduating, he worked as an associate in New York, North Carolina and Massachusetts. He had the pleasure of working with Dr. Dan Bartel at Bartel Dental Center for 3 years up until Dr. Dan’s retirement where he then purchased the practice.

Dedicated to providing the highest quality services and care, Dr. Rivera participates in ongoing training and lectures in dental studies to stay current on the latest materials, treatments and diagnostic tools. He is committed to using premium materials, tools and dental laboratories. Dr. Rivera loves to help patients boost their confidence by restoring their smile.

When he is not treating patients, Dr. Rivera enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Karla Alvarado (an Orthodontist) and their dog Lexie.

Dental Anxiety and Phobia

If you have a fear of dental work

In fact, some studies show that up to 75% of Americans experience some level of dental related fear and 20% avoid dental care because of it. If you have a fear of dental work, we want you to know that making you feel comfortable and safe at our office is our first priority. Dental anxieties and phobias present themselves in a wide variety of ways, and specific fears vary from person to person. Dental anxiety may be mild to moderate, and often takes the form of a general sense of worry and apprehension when thinking about an upcoming procedure.
